- "La casa di Essere." We noted that "salire" "scendere" and "vivere" can sometimes be used with either "essere' or "avere" in the passato prossimo.
We conjugated the following verbs, which are irregular in the present: uscire, nascere, salire, morire, rimanere.
We wrote all of the past participles on the board, and practiced a few in sentences.

Look at the verbs in the first two sections. You will be changing all of the sentences to the passato prossimo. In one section, all of the verbs will take "avere", and in the other section all of the verbs will take "essere".
Esercizio 6: Change the sentences to passato prossimo. For each pair of sentences, one uses "essere" and the other uses "avere".

Esercizio A: Notice that number 9 has a modal verb and an infinitive which takes "essere". So use "essere" as the auxiliary.
Esercizio B: "Luca" is a boy's name. and on number 8, notice that with the modal verb, it is the infinitive which governs whether you will use "essere" or "avere".
