- i compiti: l'imperfetto, comparativi, pronomi tonici. We went over the compiti from last week. Some topics we hadn't covered yet in depth included:

- ...quanto...
If you want to say that somebody does something "AS MUCH AS" somebody else does something, then you use ...quanto...
Chiara si allena quanto Simone. - Chiara trains as much as Simone.
If you want to say that two things are "THE SAME AS" (an adjective) then you use "...come..." or "...quanto..."
Lo sport è importante come l’alimentazione. - Sport is as important as nutrition.
Lo sport è importante quanto l'alimentazione. - Sport is as important as nutrition.
- comparativi: "...di..." or "...che..."When you want to talk about two people or things, comparing one quality that they both have, use più di... or meno di...
Sofia è più bella di Marcello.

If you're comparing two adjectives,
or two infinitives,
two nouns preceded by a preposition,
or two nouns when neither one is the subject of the sentence, you need to use più che... or meno che...

Le scarpe sono più belle che commode. (two adjectives)
Fare una passeggiata è meno divertente che andare alla spiaggia. (two infinitives)
Ho più bisogno del tempo che dei soldi. (two nouns preceded by preposition)
Ci sono più persone che bici. (neither noun is the subject)

But the following example uses di instead of che, because footing and ciclismo are nouns, and one of them is the subject of the sentence:
Per Gianna, il footing è più faticoso del ciclismo.

- Superlativi.
If you want to say that SOMETHING is THE MOST or THE LEAST (adjective), then you have to use the definite article "THE" with più or meno.
and to express the idea "in the room" or "in the world" or "of all", you use di plus the appropriate definite article:
Fiona è il cane più bello del mondo.
Luisa ha i cappelli più ricci della stanza.
Pattinare è lo sport più bello di tutti gli sport.
Il formaggio italiano è il più squisito dell'universo.
Le sciarpe di Susanna sono le più belle del mondo.
L'alligatore è l'animale più feroce della giungla.
Il blu è il colore più bello.
- ascolto, comprensione. Abbiamo ascoltato un brano del testo, per ascoltare e comprendere una conversazione in italiano. Alessandra e Alberto vogliono andare in montagna. Paolo è pigro.

- Parola da ricordare:
Non vedo l'ora! - I can't wait! (I am really looking forward to it!)
Non è successo niente. - Nothing happened.
Una distanza di otto miglia. - A distance of eight miles. (singular: miglio - masculine. plural: miglia - feminine)
