- What we did in class: Abbiamo conosciuto Barbara, una studentessa nuova. Benvenuta!

- practiced audio unit 11

- Went over our compiti: "ci".
"Ci" is a little word which often is used to replace "to (a place)". In English, we can use the word "there" in the same way: Would you like to go to the beach? Yes, I'm going there now. Read about "ci" on pages 260, 261.

- practiced "ci" by asking "Would you like to go to ...?"
Vorresti andare al mare? - Sì, ci vado adesso.
Vuoi andare al cinema? - Sì, ci vado con te.
Ti piace andare in montagna? - Sì, mi piace andarci. (in this case, ci replaces in + noun)
Vai spesso a Roma? - No, non ci vado spesso.

- una presentazione deliziosa: "Monte Bianco". Un dolce italiano, di una ricetta autentica. Grazie a Luisa!

(Grazie a Susanna la Prima per le arance arizonesi.)

- "L'Anello Magico" from Italo Calvino's "Fiabe italiane". We read together from the bottom of page 199 "Finito di mangiare..." to 3/4 down page 200 "...gli fece un bel sorriso."
David noticed that he had made two errors on the handy vocabulary list:
fianco - side
prati - meadows
