- Pronomi doppi: Agreeing gender and number in passato prossimo. When you have a direct object pronoun preceding the verb, you agree the ending of the participle with the direct object pronoun : Che begli anelli! Chi te li ha regalati?:
Me li ha regalati la mia ragazza.

Che bella camicia! Chi te l'ha regalata?
Me l'ha regalata un'amico.

- L'imperfetto. When deciding whether to use imperfetto or passato prossimo,
Which of these two questions is being answered: "Com'era?" (imperfetto) or "Cos'è successo?" (passato prossimo)

- Imperativo. Aspetta! Vai! Dai! Fai! Dimmi! Stai!
Andiamo al cinema? Andiamo al cinema!
Giochiamo a tennis? Giochiamo a tennis!

Partiamo per le Dolomiti? Partiamo per le Dolomiti!

-Compiti (homework)
We went over the answers from last week's handout 22, the pink or purple page of cartoons. In order, here are the answers to the panels on the back: s,a // s,s,a // s,a,a

1.  Listen and repeat with Audio: LEVEL TWO, unit 14. We'll practice it in class. Let me know if you need it!

2. - Handout 23(front) (click here for the handout)
- Handout 23(back) (click here for the handout)
This is a the same exercise as last week's handout 22: the (purple or pink) page of cartoons. Decide whether each panel of the cartoon is depicting:
an imperfetto situation (S) or
a passato prossimo action (A).
"She was calling for her dog (imperfetto), and then she found him (passato prossimo).

Here's a hint:On this handout, if the verb is any form of "essere", the cartoon is depicting an imperfetto situation (S).

3. Il Bastimento a Tre Piani. Continue reading, from the bottom of page 13 through the bottom of page 14. Click here to read (in English) what happened this week.

4. Handout 24 (imperativo) (click here for the handout) (You can read about Informal Commands on pages 267, 268, and the top of 269.)
Change all the sentences (indicativo) to commands (imperativo).
For example, if the sentence is "Non dovete dire il segreto." (You must not tell the secret.) you will change it to a command and write: "Non dite il segreto!" (Don't tell the secret!) and then change the word in bold to a pronoun (direct, indirect, or ci (for to a place or in a place) and write: "Non ditelo!" (Don't tell it!).
If it says, "We must not have the coffee," make it "Let's not have the coffee!" (imperativo) and then "Let's not have it!"
