-Warmup: Inviting someone to go out with you. (not a date...) We used phrases from Handout number 20. Cosa facciamo stasera? (white)
- Direct object? or Indirect object? Franco e Ida. We used some verbs from the handout "Franco e Ida" to make a few original sentences.
-Imperfetto. We read "Hansel e Gretel"
and we did the two-way translation "La pratica in coppia..." (pink) Can you spot the mistake in the Italian number 9???? (I didn't proof read this: I got it from another instructor... accidenti!)
We did a "Mad Libs": Imperfetto o Passato Prossimo?
Last (noun), we were (verb-ing) in/at the (location). The weather was (adjective). The (noun, singular) was (verb-ing), and the (nouns, plural) were (verb-ing). We were enjoying ourselves in/at the (location). All of a sudden, we a saw a (noun)! It was (adjective) and (adjective), and was (verb-ing) like a (noun). After a little while, we (verb-ed) it, and it (verb-ed).

2. Imperfetto o Passato prossimo. Do handout 27. You only have to do side 1. Try to match the verbs used in the sentences with the diagrams. If a verb is passato prossimo, the diagram will have vertical lines, showing that the action has a definite start and stop. A verb in imperfetto will have a dashed line and question marks, showing that the action doesn't have a defined start and stop. Click here for the answers.
