-compiti (homework) is at the bottom of this page. ____________________________________________________ From last week's homework: 9. Verbs that can be both reflexive and non-reflexive. We put these into the passato prossimo: in the passato prossimo, the ones on the left would take essere and the past participle would have to agree with the subject. The ones on the right (transitive, i.e. with a direct object) would take avere.
- We went over your original sentences and your compositions. Good job! - "Dove" words. From the matching exercise that was on the back of the handout 8 (purple: "Scusi, c'è un bagno qui?"). We used position words, without much English at all, to say where things are in relation to other things: L'albergo è di fronte al ristorante. Il duomo è in fondo alla piazza. (Ecc.)
- Telling time. We practiced asking each other the time.
-Compiti (homework) 1. Practice your numbers. Click here for audio.
2. Practice reading the orario on the little purple handout (click here if you don't have it).
2. Direct objects and indirect objects. Click here to read about Direct object pronouns and Indirect object pronouns. We will practice next week using the indirect object pronouns to say things like: "Mi piace sciare" - (To me skiing is pleasing.) Ti piace il vino? - Do you like the wine. These are in our book starting on page 208.
3. More ways to say "some". Next week, we'll go over all the ways to say "some". ("di" + the article, alcuni, alcune, qualche) Do Practice Set 44. Un po' di.
4. Prepositions combined with the article. This is homework from last week that we didn't go over in class. Check your answers here. Translate these eight sentences into Italian (use the preposition "a" combined with the article for all of them). Choose from: al, ai, allo, all', agli, alla, alle. (See page 159).
5. Cosa facciamo stasera? Maybe we'll use this for our warm-up next week. (click here for this handout)
6. (optional) Read "Un viaggio a Roma" from handout 22 (ivory)
7. (optional) this is a good template to write your own description of a trip you're planning to Italy! Vado in Italia con mio marito. Partiamo fra tre giorni. Vado a Roma. Restiamo a Roma per una settimana. Andiamo da Roma a Napoli in treno. Restiamo a Napoli per cinque giorni. Andiamo da Napoli a Taormina in vaporetto. Restiamo in Italia dal due aprile al venti aprile.
8. The Question Words. They are listed on page 96. Has everyone been introduced to these? Take a look. |
