Nel passato prossimo con essere, the ending of the participle will agree with the subject in gender and number: (example) andato, andata, andate, andati.

 

1. I’m going to the station. (andare) Vado alla stazione.	I went to the station. Sono andato/a alla stazione.
2.The train is arriving ahead of schedule. Il treno arriva in anticipo.	The train arrived ahead of schedule. Il treno è arrivato in anticipo.
3.They are entering the shop. Entrano nel negozio.	They entered the shop. Sono entrati/e nel negozio.
4.We are happy to be in Italy. Siamo contenti/e di essere in Italia.	We were happy to be in Italy. Siamo stati/e contenti/e di essere in Italia.
5.The train is departing in a few minutes. Il treno parte fra pochi minuti.	The train departed on time. Il treno è partito in orario.
6.The house is situated in the middle of the countryside.  La casa sta in mezzo alla campagna.	The house was situated in the middle of the countryside.  La casa è stata in mezzo alla campagna.
7.Are you (tu) leaving before dinner? Esci prima della cena?	Did you leave before dinner? Sei uscita/o prima della cena?
8.Are they coming to our place after dinner? Vengono da noi dopo la cena?	Did they come to our place after dinner? Sono venuti/e da noi dopo la cena?
