passato prossimo, essere

Use the present indicative, and the passato prossimo with essere for the past. (answers are below)

 

1.    1. I’m going to the station. (andare)

I went to the station.

2.    The train is arriving ahead of schedule.(arrivare)

The train arrived ahead of schedule.

3.    They are entering the shop. (entrare in)

They entered the shop.

4.    We are happy to be in Italy. (essere contento di essere)

We were happy to be in Italy.

5.    The train is departing in a few minutes. (partire)

The train departed on time.

6.    The house is situated in the middle of the countryside. (stare) (in mezzo alla campagna)

 

The house was situated in the middle of the countryside.

7.    Are you (tu) leaving before dinner? (uscire)

Did you leave before dinner?

8.    Are they coming to our place after dinner? (venire)

Did they come to our place after dinner?

9.     Do you live here, signora? (vivere)

Did you live here, signora?

10. She is being born. (nascere)

She was born in Naples..

11. First, I’m returning to the hotel. (tornare, ritornare)

First, I returned to the hotel.

12. Then, I’m staying here. (rimanere)

Then, I stayed here.

Nel passato prossimo con essere, the ending of the participle will agree with the subject in gender and number: (example) andato, andata, andate, andati.

Il treno arriva in anticipo.

 

The train arrived ahead of schedule.

Siamo contenti/e di essere in Italia.
