-Compiti (homework) Listed in order of importance:

1. Write a few original sentences using the words from page 118. Write an original sentence using sempre (always), spesso (often), and non... mai (never). Sempre, spesso, and mai should come directly after the verb, and the non should come right before the verb. See practice set 35 for examples. Memorize all the words in boxes in Practice Set 35: (prima di, dopo, sempre, spesso, invece, non... mai, la settimana scorsa, la settimana prossima, ieri, oggi, domani).

2. Read starting on page 111 Practice Set 32. Buono and bello. Make sure you read it all, but the exercises are optional. Notice the difference between buono and bravo.

3. Do Practice Set 33. Read the list of adjectives, and do the exercises. This is a good list: memorize these adjectives.

4. Practice Set 34. Colors: when to agree. Read, and do the exercises.

5. Practice Set 54. -ire verb practice. Read, and do the exercises. I also want you to write out the conjugations for partire, offrire, sentire, capire, finire, preferire.

6. (optional) Practice Set 55. Verb review. This is optional, because I find it confusing.

7. Handout (pink) Prepositions. Use some of these simple prepositions to make up your own itinerary or description of a real or imaginary trip (present tense).

Vado in Italia con mio marito.

Vado a Roma.

Restiamo a Roma per una settimana.

Andiamo da Roma a Napoli in treno.

Restiamo a Napoli per cinque giorni.

È il primo aprile. - It's the first of April. (For the first of the month, use "primo". The "di" is optional.)

È il due di aprile. - It's the second of April.

È il due aprile. - It's the second of April. (For every other date of the month, use the numeral. The "di" is optional. )

Andiamo in Italia in maggio. - We're going to Italy in May. (You can use in or a with the months.)

-ire verbs (page 154). the regular -ire verbs are conjugated two different ways:

partire (to depart)

parto, parti, parte. partiamo, partite, partono.

finire (to finish)

finisco, finisci, finisce. finiamo, finite, finiscono.
