Andare (to go)

1.    Domani, (io) vado in Italia.  Tomorrow, I'm going to Italy.

2.    (Tu) vai a mangiare alle due?  Are you going out to eat at two?

3.    Signora,  va alla stazione? Signora, are you going to the station?

4.    Dopo domani, (noi) andiamo in treno a Bologna. The day after tomorrow, we're going by train to Bologna.

5.    Quando (voi) andate al concerto? When are you going to the concert?

6.    (Loro) vanno a Venezia in treno. They are going to Venice by train.

 

Dare (to give)

1.    (Io)  Do la mancia (tip) alla cameriera. I'm giving the tip to the waitress.

2.    (Tu)  Dai la cartolina a Giorgio? Are you giving the postcard to Giorgio?

3.    Signora, mi da  una cartolina? Signora, can you give me a postcard?

4.    Il commesso (clerk) da il resto al cliente (customer). The clerk gives the change to the customer.

5.    (Noi)  Diamo il francobollo alla signorina. We're giving the stamp to the signorina.

6.    (Voi) Date il biglietto a Marco? Are you (pl) giving the ticket to Marco?

7.    (Loro)  Danno il conto al cameriere. They give the bill to the waiter.

 

Fare (to do, to make)

1.    (Io)  Faccio una domanda. I'm asking a question.

2.    (Io)  Faccio un lungo viaggio. I'm taking a long trip.

3.    (Tu)  Fai un giro per l’Italia. You are taking a tour through Italy.

4.    Signorina, che cosa fa giovedi? Signorina, what are you doing Thursday?

5.    Che tempo fa?           Fa bellissimo.  (weather) How's the weather? It's beautiful!

6.    Quando (noi) facciamo quattro passi? (a walk) When are we taking a walk?

7.    Che cosa fate (voi)? What are you (pl) doing?

8.    Dove fanno (loro) un giro in bicicletta? Where are they taking a bike ride?

 

Stare (to stay, to be)

1.    (Io) Sto a casa. I'm at home. I'm staying home.

2.    Come stai? (tu). How are you?

3.    Luigi sta benissimo. Luigi is fine.

4.    Signorina, come sta? Signorina, how are you?

5.    Nel museo, (noi) stiamo zitti. (quiet) In the museum, we stay quiet.

6.    Dove state (voi)? Where are you staying (pl)?

7.    (Loro) Stanno all’albergo. They are staying at the hotel.
